Press Release : Badlands Guitar Company Debuts Its First Electric Guitar Model, The GX1

MANALAPAN, NJ  (Jan.17, 2023) – Badlands Guitar Company today announces the release of its first limited-run electric guitar, the Badlands GX1. The GX1 is a U.S. built, custom shop quality instrument inspired by the ‘80s hard rock sights and sounds of the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, Calif.

Every component of a Badlands instrument, from the tip of the headstock to the rear strap button, is carefully chosen for quality, value, and true-to-era accuracy.

The GX1 features a modern-style double cutaway alder body adorned with a custom “redline” graphic, maple neck, and signature headstock. Two U.S.built BGC M88 humbuckers, produced exclusively for Badlands Guitar Company, are voiced to recreate some of the most sought-after hard rock-style pickups of the era. A Gotoh 1996T locking vibrato bridge delivers superlative tuning stability under even the most extreme performance conditions. A Gotoh 510FX-6 hardtail and left handed configuration are available as options.

The GX1 will be produced in a limited run in 2023 on a built-to-order basis. Musicians can order through the Badlands Guitar Company website,  GX1 production will begin in early 2023 with initial instrument deliveries planned for Spring 2023. Each instrument will include a special accessory pack that includes an exclusive Badlands Guitar Company guitar pick produced by V-Picks, an exclusive Runway Audio instrument cable, a Floyd Rose HexHider locking tremolo adjustment tool, a DiMarzio ClipLock™ strap, all nested in a TKL branded hardshell case.

Badlands is already planning future instrument runs that honor some of the most famous and beloved aesthetics and features of iconic instruments from the ’80s hard rock pantheon.

Badlands Guitar Company was launched in 2022 by YouTube guitar community luminaries The Tone King and Phillip McKnight and professional designer Luka Skalabrin. Leveraging their combined expertise in high-performance guitar design, configuration, and set-up, they founded Badlands Guitar Company to elevate hard rock guitar design and produce custom shop quality, era-correct instruments at accessible prices to offer every customer a taste of the ‘80s hard rock guitar hero experience. Brian Olexy, a gigging musician and communication professional, rounds out the Badlands ownership team.
