This comes from me having to depend on a pedal to give me the sound I would expect a pedal that’s all solid state and just needs either a battery or AC adapter to run the thing.
See the problem with these units is that the tubes or VALVES in them have to warm up just like in a tube amp. You can’t expect to stomp on one of those pedals at a gig without the thing having had the time for that tube/valve to warm up in order to give you the sound that you would expect to hear automatically from most other solid state pedals that only need a battery or AC adapter.
So I would have no interest in adding one of these types to my pedal board.
