Note regarding Polls
To all who have participated in the poll & voting : I am sad to announce, that I have verified that there has been questionable activity around the polls, and at this point, based on a thorough analysis of the server log files, I am confident there has been tampering w/ the voting system. Therefore the poll has been shut down. This is based on a numerous amount of POSTs to the poll script itself (thetoneking.com/wp/wp-content/plugins/wp-polls/wp-polls.php), from such proxy services as airproxy.ca, surfall.net, unrestrictedsurf.net. I suspect the people using these services, didn’t realize that their source IP would show in the server logs, and those source IP addresses map directly to the poll script itself, over and over again, even though the proxy services allowed them to continue voting. With that said – I want to be clear that I can’t map an IP address to a user, so I am not pointing fingers to any single person or entry, and as far as I’m concerned – all entries will remain in the running. However, because the poll system has been compromised, the winner will be selected by TTK on the Live Webcast on Friday December 30th. TTK will personally pick his favorites. If you’d like to leave your comment below, on your favorite – please do so! I will read all comments, inputs & suggestions, and it would be nice to see some agreement on who you all think should win this contest! Lots of luck to everyone who participated. How Can I Enter?

It could be in the form of a parody, an impersonation, your favorite TTK lick, or whatever else you can muster up! The goal is to have fun for the holidays … so I’m putting myself out there for you to all poke fun at & enjoy! Let’s enjoy some good laughs for the month of December. If you haven’t watched any of The Tone King’s videos – you better start now!!!
How Can I Win?
TTK himself will go through each video reply and pick his favorites. Then, on December 25th, a poll will go live on this page. At that point, you’ll have until December 30th to vote for your favorite video. First place winner can select the pedal of their choice (from the list above). Second place winner will be able to select from the remaining 2 prizes. Third place winner will win the 3rd pedal. Stay tuned for coverage on all 3 pedals during the month of December, so you can start thinking about the pedal you like the best!

I think that “mjamgochian” is clearly the best. His impersonation was the only one that was even accurate. After all, the object of the contest was to “impersonate.”

TBH, I think that the jimstudio’s entry is very under-rated, that guy works so hard on his channel and his idea is totally original. I think it will be a shame if someone who ‘might’ of cheated still wins. But at least he would of fairly won. Good luck to everyone \m/

First, I want to thank TTK for his incredible patience with this contest.. and also apologize to him for the way things went down. That’s one of the many reasons TTK ROCKS like he does!! (.. one of those bad boys!! \m/)! But its pretty sad to see this sort of thing go down. I was in the running until last night.. and this morning woke up and was like “WTF? Something’s up!”
So I’m glad things got sorted out or “resolved.” I was going to suggest in the future.. since all TTK subscribers have Youtube accounts.. have them POST a comment to the original TTK post announcing the contest.. OR just “LIKE” the video they vote for. It’s not a perfect system either but you can only LIKE a video ONCE and this would prevent voting “early and often.”
For my video, my aim was to take what TTK does so well.. and follow his lead, but add some “volume” to it. I don’t have a camera setup with a remote “zoom” so I decided to do it “manually” which added some laughs to it. I didn’t realize my guitar’s finish was SO smooth and clean that you could see the bookshelves BEHIND the camera in the video LOL!!! I’ve been meaning to do a review of my axe for Carvin.. so this was “two birds with one stone” with a bit of fun. =) Rock on TTK!!
Meanwhile guys, kick back.. and Rock on!! Maybe watch my “Armageddon Chord” contest entry if you get bored. =) It was a GREAT BOOK BTW if you’re into reading. Plus Author Jeremy Wagner is a metal guitarist (i.e. Broken Hope/Lupara) and the book is as METAL as you can get!! =)

I think it is really sad it has all come down to this. I know dens1vengeance has declared he never cheated. We will never know. And i know you cant stop people asking for help from friends – but i ask you all, is it really in the spirit of what was intended. The reason why everybody’s vote count is low compared to the votes is because the majority of contestants have got friends to vote for them. Friends who are not interested in seeing the other videos. This is the shame here. I am a member of another forum where a contestant here asked for people to vote for him – and a lot of people did just that based on nothing more but his asking – without even viewing the other videos.
I really cant believe winning is so important. Despite the pleas from a forum buddy of mine I chose to vote after watching all the videos for the one i thought was the best. If it is just going to be a popularity contest with the winner the one who is on the most forums and has the most facebook friends – then why bother to do the videos.
So yeah, getting friends to vote for you without bothering to look at the other videos is not exactly in keeping within the spirit of the competition in my view but i understand people do it because they assume everybody else is doing it.
The TONE KING is a star. I have followed him since the very early days and I am guessing he is just as pi$$ed off with all this. I said in an earlier post that i thought the competition in this format was a mistake. TK should have picked the winners or even selected a panel from trusted people whom he trusts will make an honest decision.
Hang in there TK and keep the competitions going. We love what you do.

Tone King, I love all that you do and appreciate this contest, but i believe you are only seeing the “what if they are NOT cheating side” based on your comment. How bout the “what if they ARE” side. Theres been enough: # of votes coming close to views, votes coming from anonymous shifting ip networks (to 1 user) and overnight surges to the top
In my opinion you should choose the winners like the shred off you had last year. The victors could win fairly, under judgement of the tone king himself. This eliminates all possibility of cheating and that popularity business. Not to mention it does not BLAME anyone for cheating, just takes away any doubt. Maybe you’ll decide to let it slip this time, but please not next contest. I happen to be a competitor, but i care more about fairness than winning.
Ever heard of facebook power? My votes stopped “accumulating” simply because this is the number of friends and acquaintances i have … YES i told them to vote for me but who is stopping you to do as well? that’s not cheating in my book btw !!!
toolbass24 is cheating. Here is proof:
Firstly, TOR is a network of servers that keeps users anonymous on the Internet. Similar to a proxy, TOR changes the IP address of the user, however, at any point during the browsing session, users can “request a new identity” which changes the IP address again.
The IP addresses 137.56.163.64, 77.247.181.163, 173.254.192.37, 146.185.23.179 and 31.31.75.215 have all voted for toolbass24. However, these IP addresses also correspond to TOR servers.
This can actually be verified by simply entering those IP addresses into a web browser as if they were URLs.
I also believe den1svengeance could be cheating, although I have no evidence of this.
I hope I have helped bring some fairness to this contest.

What? No TimothyTightPants!lol. I saw that video and waited for some gear demo or a wicked lick or something and their was nothing. Then down in the description, it said it took a lot of time and effort to make that video. Anyways, I voted first then read the part where it says you can vote up to three times o_O! Dang I would have voted for myself once if I had seen that, oh well. To the people crying about having no camera, you’re seven people from everyone in the world and you can’t get ahold of a camera? To the people crying about cheating! Phht! I’m in last(almost) place, I knew everyone was going to imitate TK, so i tried to do something original.
what gets me is that nearly 500 people have voted yet nobody has anywhere near that amount of views. Am i the only one who actually watched all the videos!!!

Dude, i love what you do. I have been following you forever and respect it is your site. But what it means is that when you have another competition i will not be entering simply because I feel the odds are stacked against me. Yes i am not on Facebook so cant rally false support. Also if the “alleged” cheat wins then it will turn a lot of genuine fans away from you.
Dude just cancel the competition. You run the risk of losing some serious good faith if you let this charade go on. Makes me sick to the stomach that genuine people have entered and are being conned out of the prizes. No point running competitions like this if they are so much open to abuse.

Nothin against him but I mean at one point this morning he had 84 votes and 107 views. Your right, that is true that everyone will ask people to vote for them, but do you really want these polls to reflect number of friends and family rather than which video is best? I think you should just choose the winners. (opinion)After all, you are the one being impersonated. Hope everyone is having a great holidays.
For anyone who is commenting, or emailing regarding cheating … Here is my take on what is happening … I suppose, anytime there is a poll – it’s natural for people to call on their friends and family to vote for them. And, I’m sure each participant did just that. They went to their friends, family, and perhaps even Facebook pages, and asked for votes. With that said, to ensure the integrity of the poll system, I have locked down based on cookie & ip address – which is the most amt of control & security I can put around the poll. Outside of that – to accuse someone of cheating, without fact or proof, is purely speculation, and to disqualify someone because we ‘think’ they are cheating, isn’t very fair either, especially if that persons votes are legitimate. With all of that said – there are some things I am looking for. If, for example, someone gets more votes, than actual youtube video views – I will investigate that, because part of the rules is to ‘vote for your favorite’ – so if someone happens to receive more votes than views, I suspect people aren’t watching the videos, at which point, I will determine the best course of action if that situation does arise. I hope that answers all questions and concerns on this matter. I, like you, want this to be whole hearted, fair, and fun for everyone.

I dont see how it is possible to have that many votes. Nothing against the first place guy but i doubt they actually have 100 votes in 12 hours. Also, how does one get 20 votes, 1 hour after the voting started at 12:00 midnight…
I hope TTK sorts this out, so unfair on the honest genuine competitors

Not being funny or anything but “dens1vengeance” does seem to be getting lots of votes very quick and it does seem kinda suspicious. TTK please look into this. The winner needs to win fair and square!
