OfflineSo the recording part of the forum is a bit empty haha
I'm just curious as to what people use to record with or have done in the past.
I'm a mac user (please no abuse about lack of right click ;P)
I run Logic Pro Studio 9 through an Alesis iO26 Audio Interface.
Depending how I feel about recording sometimes I'll use a plug-in called Amplitube.
If you haven't heard of Amplitube really recommend you check it out one of the most realistic sounding guitar amp simulation plug-ins.
If I do record guitars with an amp I usually use an Audix i5 (this mic is earning a really good rep) similar style to the Shure SM57 i personally find it slightly more flattering to amps. If I can convince my mate to lend me his SE Electronics R1 Ribbon Mic thats a banger!
So what do you use? :)

OfflineFor recording, a few of my friends own recording studios that do it as their career so I'll pay money to have something done right. But I use an mbox and sm57 with protools 9 to record little clips of my own to experiment with. Nothing special but it works.

OfflineI use a Line 6 UX1 and a cheap program called Acid Studio Pro. After all I only payed $219for this system and I get better quality then some other dudes after breaking $2000. And for drums I was using Drumkit from Hell but now I have a Zoom Drum Machine.

OfflineSounds good.. I think the snare sounds a little flat but I assume someone wants it that way.
A simple trick to get a fuller sound at home is record the guitar track twice and pan them to each ear. Lead and bass, down the middle

OfflineSounds really great to me Grin.Good work. Like your buddies sounds too Bruce. Just goes to show what you can do on the cheap.I think if you are going for something for a demo it's good not to spend a whole lot of money as most people are more concerned with the content than the recording quality.

OfflineThanks. I have alot more where that came from but I think i settled on Rock. I was REALLY happy and proud of the music I had in my last band.

We changed the singer since then and then they changed the bassist (me) but this is the style of music I want to play.
Also everything you hear on that myspace page was recorded using the Zoom h2.

OfflineI probably have one of the cheapest setups here. I use a rockband usb microphone into my laptop running audacity to record it. Funny thing is, it does not sound half bad lol.

OfflineThe interface I use is the Edirol UA-1000 and I use Adobe Audition to record it all.
Everything runs out of the mixer into the UA:
Guitar parts are either straight into the mixer from the Digitech 2112, straight in from the GR-55 synth or mic'd off my Peavey 212
Bass is straight to the mixer from my V-Amp Pro
Drums are sight to the mixer from my Alesis DM-Pro
Vocals are straight to the mixer from a Behringer Tube Ultragain
keyboard goes sight to the mixer.
Reverb for everything gets handled by either the TC M300 or the M-One XL
