I am wanting to purchase a BC Rich double neck Bich and see that the two different colors have different pickups:
Trans Red: Pickups: Rockfield Mafia
White: Pickups: Duncan Designed

Is one pickup better than the other? I've noticed on most YouTube videos almost everyone has purchased the trans red. Are the Rockfield Mafia pickups better than the Duncan pickups?

Also, why do manufactures to this? I've seen so many times where the supposedly the same guitar is for sale and the black will have Duncan pickups but the same guitar  in red will have EMG. Is there some sort of reasoning behind this?

Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

as far as one guitar having duncans and the other emg, there has been debate between a lot of people on what is better so as a company if you make a guitar with both options then your sales will be better. as far as the rockfield vs duncan designed goes i find the mafias are better sounding

Sooo … I 'believe' the dilly-o on your question is as follows :

BC Rich owns the 'Rockfield' pickup name, and it's to my understanding that they are discontinuing the line.  So, any new models will have the Duncan Designed pickups. 

That said – it's not a matter of what's better, it's a matter of what's available at the time of build.  (BTW – older red models will have the Rockfields, newer red models will also have the DD, like the newer white models).

My personal opinion – I like Rockfield pickups, so given which pickup – I'd choose the Rockfields.  However – I wouldn't necessarily choose the guitar over the pickups that come installed.  Remember – you can always change pickups, but you can't change the color of the guitar …
