I have always found the best tone/volume was around 7 (depending on amp).

When in doubt – put everything on 7!  Not the first time I heard of that.  In fact - if you ask Joe Delaney (Randall Dude) … he'll agree. (I only know about that, b/c we've spoken about that so many times!)

angus young does that, everything dialed to 7. Volume up that much gets the best tube saturation, anything over that gets compressed sounding. 6-7 is def an amps sweet spot

Man, I don't know if I could narrow it down to 3 fav pedals but the one I use most is my Ibanez TS-9.

If I was just plain rich and wanted another Delay pedal I'd get the Strymon Delay. It's the best I've heard but it's a $399 pedal. Not going to happen here.

My favorite pedal (and everybody else) DS1 + Flanger.

Would love to add an Equalizer & Compressor for this setup.

Favorite pedal is tough.  Since some sort of Univibe simulator has been part of my rig for a looonnnggg time I'll give the nod to the Fulltone Deja Vibe.  Every pedalboard I've put together has had space allocated for one of those.

What am I looking to add?  Another tough one there.  I've been particularly interested in the Way Huge Green Rhino that pas couple of weeks, so I'll go with that!

'67 reissue Stratocaster (Lollar pickups), AVRI Thinskin Jazzmaster, '69 reissue Thinline Telecaster (Lollar and Fralin pickups), '90 Tele Plus, Rickenbacker 660-12, Ibanez RG7321 - Marshall Class 5, JMJ30, Roland JC-55, Orange OR15H - a bunch of pedals

I build most of my own pedals. My favorite is called the RF Drive. There are three on this pic of my board. The silver, gold and blue ones. Currently I have two of those on my board and a Professor Tweed.

I am planning on build a distortion with ocatave box next. I would like to add a reverb pedal at some point.

Thanks!

okay – I officially have board envy.  See … my problem is that I have a lot of pedals – but I don't really have them set up in a board.  I need to work on that.  Maybe a 2013 resolution – to make a 'go-to' board.

Go for it, Tone King. Do you play in a band or go to jam sessions?

Favorite pedal?  MXR Phase 90 Script.  Can't seem to ever turn the damn thing off!

@KY – I play locally w a few guys – mostly studio.  Gone are my days of playing out.  Heck – I'm lucky I get to play as much as I do in my house.  My passion for gear and tone has never changed though, I've been this way about gear since I was about 14-15 years old.  I had built a 12 space rack before I was 20 – and that was fun – really made you think about which components go where.  Too bad rack gear is a thing of the past – but I learned a lot gear from it.  Pedals are fun.  Kind of like legos for guitarist :-) .  You can build pedal boards, break it down and build again – so with all of the pedalboard envy I have – that is what is on my todo list (as soon as I get back from NAMM).
