Wow, I know which speaker to stay away from Amp B was so dull and lifeless. Took all the oomph out of the amp.

hi there,
i own a crate v5 to, i bought it for 50€ brandnew in the Netherlands. the stock sound is pretty good, but it isn’t loud enough.
i am using the amp with a 2×12 cab made by fender and wow what a killersound, what i specially like is: the tone knob. it is a bit like the isf control from blackstar, turn it to the left the american sound is there, and turn it to the right all you hear is marshall.
so it’s a very good amp for the money.

Nicely done… I thought you had done something more complicated, such as changing EL34s for 6L6, hence the change from fenderish voicing to a more brittish style. I never thought a speaker could make such a great difference, but Celestion makes good guitar speakers.

saw your review, bought one uk £59 free postage. love it. may try a new speaker sometime but for now will do me fine. great vids
