NAMM 2014: Amptweaker BigRock Pro Distortion Pedal
The Tone King | Jan 19, 2014 | Comments 1
What can we say about Amptweaker that everybody in the industry isn’t already saying? Amptweaker is still a young company by industry standards, but their pedals are definitely becoming some of the most sought after. That’s why when players got a hold of the TightMetal Distortion Pedal, they were impressed by its chunky and tight gain. So, it’s no surprise that the rock guys wanted in on the fun. For NAMM 2014, Amptweaker is releasing the BigRock Pro Distortion pedal. Two boost knobs (one before and one after the distortion circuity, added switches that give players popular tones from other Amptweaker pedals, and a Smooth Edge switch that cuts the high-end for a more mellow tone.
If pedals be your thing, then you need to make some space on your pedalboard for Amptweaker.
As always, full press release is below. Stay tuned for more NAMM SLAMM 2014 from TheToneKing.com!
FOR JANUARY NAMM RELEASE:
Introducing the Amptweaker BigRock Pro Pedal
Cumming, GA, Jan 14, 2014
Last summer’s TightMetal™ Pro distortion pedal created quite a stir, and immediately
Amptweaker™ received many requests for a rock version. Unlike most distortion
pedals with a single boost, the BigRock Pro™ includes 2 Boost knobs, one before and
one after the distortion…..so it’s easy to boost the gain AND volume, for the perfect
solo tone! Patch your favorite delay into the Boost Effects Loop, and you’ve got onestomp
control of your rock rhythm and lead.
Added switches on this pedal allow it to get tones from both our popular TightRock™
and FatRock™ distortion pedals. These include the Smooth Edge switch which cuts
the high end sizzle for a warmer edge, and 2 Fat switches that allow either the normal
or Boosted tones to have a thicker attack with a bit more compression. The added
three band EQ allows for much tonal variation, with its PlexEQ button for a more
traditional stack tone. Our standard noise gate from the original TightRock is also
included, which tracks the gain knob and has internal adjustments.
Amptweaker pedals are known for effects loops, and this one has 3: a universal loop,
the Boost loop, and our popular SideTrak loop which activates when the pedal is OFF,
to automatically switch in/out clean effects.
Standard Amptweaker features: LED illumination of controls, 9-18V operation, and
true bypass switching.
