We are in the final stretch of TheToneKing.com/Ibanez Joe Satriani Unstoppable Sweepstakes, and with the days counting down, your chances dwindle with every passing minute. You can’t win the lottery without buying a ticket, and you can’t win this contest without punching the keyboard a few times. Honestly, it doesn’t take long. While you wait for that gnarly beef burrito to finish heating up in the microwave, you could be at your computer trying to win an Ibanez JS24P.

All it takes is time, and it won’t cost you a dime.

I can’t promise you’ll win, but the only time you are losing is watching your snack rotate in the nuke.

But wait, there is more!

One grand prize winner will get a JS24P guitar, 2 Meet and Greet passes at the winner’s choice of show, and a Joe Satriani Collector’s Bundle.

This is where it gets even better. 2nd place is the first loser. Right? That’s what they say? Not in this case, baby! Three 2nd place winners will win Meet and Greets at the show of their choice and signed copies of Satriani’s newest album, Unstoppable Momentum. You don’t go to Satch. He comes to you (within reason).

Five 3rd place winners will all get an autographed Unstoppable Momentum CD.

Nine winners in total!joesatriani-hr

So you can fill out the form, or you can watch a burrito spin. I’m not going to tell you how to live your life.

But, I am into history and I hope you learned in school about the Industrial Revolution because years beyond us will remember this era as the Age of Information. And, the first thing they’ll say will be, “Hey! Silver Surfer! Check this out! This dude won an Ibanez JS24P with the click of a few buttons! How awesome is that!”

Writing this does make me a little nostalgic. When I first started playing bass, I was always on the lookout for more complex pieces. At 15 I was looking around on the internet and came across a video of Stu Hamm playing his bass solo which had a snip of “Moonlight Sonata”. That same video is still easy to find and begins with Joe bowing, and disappearing off stage, and at this point I had to ask who was the bald dude who got to play with such an awesome bassist.

A quick search on the internet pointed me to Joe Satriani. People say that it was David Gilmour that made them feel they could fly. At 16, Satch was the dude for me. The song that connects me to his playing oh so fiercely has always been “The Crush of Love”. One day, I will own an Ibanez Satriani model, but for now I am VERY happy with my SA220. It’s always been my “A” guitar, but a thought occurred to me. Ibanez has a few big names sportin signature models but none carry the musical weight that Joe Satriani and Steve Vai do. And, now you can win one of Satch’s guitars and get to meet him in person.

Do it!

About the Author: Started playing bass at 15. It was Danko Jones who inspired me to play at all, and in a small town I couldn't be picky on what I can get my hands on, so I bought a squire with pride. Obtained a B.C. Rich guitar months later. Moved to the city at 17. At 19 joined my first metal band as a bassist which ended at 20. Joined a bass heavy rock band, which I loved being in whole heartily. I now wait to venture into a new project. For the time being though, I am exploring my abilities as a writer.
