30 Pedals in 30 Days 2014: Fuchs’ Jersey Lightning, Pedal Pusher, and Double Plush

Fuchs Audio Technology has a lot going for it. Jersey Lightning, Pedal Pusher, and the Double Plush all showcase different facets of this manufacturer’s abilities, a buffer, buffer and boost, and an amp in a box all done with precision and skill. Sure, we might’ve Fuched ourselves by taking on all of these for 30 Pedals in 30 Days 2014, but TheToneKing.com is up to the challenge.
Since it’s home to The Tone King, let’s start with Jersey Lightning. For all of you Fuchs fans out there (Fuchsians?), you may be familiar with the Jersey Thunder pedal for bass players. Because Fuchs didn’t want guitar players getting the notion that nobody gave a Fuch, they came out with the Jersey Lightning. A guitar specific buffer and ga in boost pedal that will take a high impedance signal to low impedance for long cable runs or complicated pedal configurations that can easily degrade your sound.
Keeping it quality but easy to use, the Jersey Lightning has gain and hi boost knobs, true-bypass switching, and a three-position EQ selector at the top of the pedal. Under the hood, it’s a bit more complicated with low noise FET circuitry, giving players a gentle sweep of gain options that range from a bit ‘o’ dirt to a chop to the throat.
The Pedal Pusher doubles your pleasure from the Jersey Lightning. Two separate low noise FET circuits based give players more versatility for when they feel like they really need to Fuch things up. Each gain stage has its own individual level control, adding more versatility and a broader range of gain. These can be bypassed, though, for a preset soloing boost. The Pedal Pusher is at its best when it wrap itself around a pedalboard but can be used as a solo piece too. With send and return level controls, the Pedal Pusher can act as an independent effects loop with a high impedance input and a low impedance output.
Finally, we come to the Double Plush overdrive pedal. Two pedals in one, the Double Plush expands Fuchs’ 
popular Plush Drive into a two-channel amp in a tiny box. If you’re looking for that signature Fuching sound in a stompbox, then you need to check out the Double Plush. The first channel brings out the big guns, more drive that has enough overdrive to feel like a kick to the head. The second channel is all about the classic Plush Drive, bluesy and warm to gritty and raunchy with the turn of a dial. Both channels have Touch, Level, Tone, and Gain controls to help create truly custom sounds.
All of Fuchs’ are built like tanks with cast aluminum housings, industrial powder coat finishes, and heat cured silkscreen labeling. Of course, what’s inside is just a quality with true bypass switching, Cliff switches, Neutrik connectors, metal shaft controls, quality passive components, mil spec fiberglass two-sided circuit board construction and a 5-year warranty. That’s a long lasting Fuch if I’ve ever seen one.
Fuchs Audio Technology has a wide range of pedals. It’s not often that TheToneKing.com has a chance to check out three pedals from one manufacturer for 30 Pedals in 30 Days, but checking out the Jersey Lightning, Pedal Pusher, and the Double Plush definitely gave us a better look into what these Jersey guys are capable of.
